Silver Sands
Silver Sands Resort has a semi-private beach area (all beaches on Barbados are considered public property.) Its white coral sand stretches for miles. The wide, deep beaches buttress the clear, azure waters of the Caribbean.
Dining and Drinks
Seafans Restaurant is a popular spot for breakfast. It also serves a la carte and table dhote dining in the evenings. Seafans provides vistas overlooking the ocean to make the most of its tropical setting for diners romantic experience. Lunches and evening snacks are available at the Seahorse Grill. The Grills menu consists of sandwiches, salads, soups, burgers and pizza. Rum is the drink of Barbados and rum punches along with other tropical drinks are available at both these establishments as well as famous Barbados Banks Beer.
Entertainment
During the daylight hours, the beach always beckons. Scuba diving demonstrations and underwater guides are available. On land, Silver Sands Resort offers classes in cooking the wonderful foods of Barbados. When night falls, live bands, theatrical entertainment, dancing, and sporting events keep guests well entertained.
Recreation
The trade winds off the Barbados coast during the winter, shift to give Silver Sands unique windsurfing conditions. The Resort area is recognized internationally as one of the world class centers for windsurfing. They are given a skill rating of 5-6 (advanced) so this is not an area where newcomers should learn the sport. Lockers are provided for windsurfers with their own equipment, and Club Mistral (open November-June) carries the latest rigs and boards for purchase or rental.
Silver Sands Resort has its own large, fresh water swimming pool and a childrens pool for non-ocean swimmers. The pool overlooks the ocean and has a spacious deck where guests may enjoy the warm Barbados sun. There are also two hard-surface tennis courts available for registered guests use.
Perfect for Touring Sports Groups/Families
The only public Championship Golf Course on Barbados is located at Durants, Christ Church, moments away from Silver Sands Resort. The Resort and the Barbados Golf Club offer 7 and 14-day golf packages. Volleyball and beach table tennis tournaments occur throughout the year. The Resort has 12 acres of beautiful grounds perfect for training before events. Beyond the Resorts boundaries are wide open areas providing fantastic opportunities to enjoy the islands flora and fauna.
Location
The south-eastern tip of Barbados is home to the Silver Sands Resort. The Resort sits between the airport and the islands capital, Bridgetown. Minibus service to Bridgetown runs three days a week for a small fee.
