Description:

Located on the scenic southern coast of Babardos, the Bougainvillea Beach Resort is the place to take the family for vacation. The accommodations are beautifully designed and decorated in cool Caribbean colors. The resort offers a plethora of services to fit just about any need a family can have; from the kid friendly playgrounds, to the nearby shops and nightlife, the Bougainvillea has something for every family member.

Wining & Dining

The Bougainvillea offers two restaurants. The Lanterns by the Sea Restaurant sits right on the beach, offering picturesque views and delicious samplings of local and international cuisine. Start the day with a breakfast buffet that includes a variety of fruits and pastries as well as numerous hot dishes. Lunch selections include favorites such as hamburgers and lighter fare such as salads. In the evening the lanterns are lit and diners can enjoy an a la carte menu. On Thursday nights, guests won’t want to miss the Caribbean buffet accompanied by a floor show that includes local dancers, stilt-walkers, fire eaters and limbo performers.

A more exclusive restaurant is the Buoni Amici at the Water’s Edge, a lovely beachfront Italian restaurant open only for dinners. Pasta dishes, fresh prepared pizzas and gourmet cuisine are accompanied by excellent wines, making this an ideal dining experience for intimates and good friends. On Monday evenings, the Buoni Amici offers a tasty barbeque buffet.

The resort accommodates families further by offering meal packages that offer great meal savings when pre-booked. They also allow children less than four years to eat free and a 50 percent discount off of main menu items to children four to nine years old. Other meal options include room service or a private cook who prepares the meal in the privacy of the suite.

Both restaurants at The Bougainvillea offer libations. Guests swimming in the pool can swim right up to the pool bar and enjoy a cool refreshing tropical cocktail.

Rest & Relaxation

Let the muscles unwind and the tension leave the body by visiting the Waves Beauty Salon and Spa. The professional team is ready to pamper guests with aromatherapy massages, stone therapy, wraps, facials, pedicures, manicures and body scrubs.

Sports & Recreation

The Bougainvillea Beach Resort is rife with activities. Older guests can swim in one of three pools while younger guests wade in one of two small shallow wading pools or take a walk down to the beach and enjoy water sports at Waterworld. Complimentary snorkeling and kayaking equipment as well as boogie boards, sun lounges, umbrellas and beach towels are provided by Waterworld. Guests can enjoy other sports too; windsurf, jet-ski or kite surf; Waterworld staff is there to assist.

Adults can visit the resort’s fitness center and exercise in an air-conditioned, well equipped facility. Equipment includes all the latest strength training and cardiovascular machines as well as aerobic and yoga classes.

Younger guests will love the Challenger Game Room which has games galore. Air hockey, a pool table, table tennis, table basketball and football, foosball, video games and DVDs, this inside game room as it all.

If that isn’t enough options, perhaps a turn on the tennis courts is the ticket or perhaps a robust game of volleyball, competitive game of shuffle board or a giant chess match will satisfy. There is even the availability of discounted green fees and preferential tee times at the nearby 18-hole Barbados Golf Club.

Hotel Location

The Bougainvillea Beach Resort is located on the Maxwell Coast just 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the bustling capital of Bridgetown. Five minutes away guests will find two of the biggest activities and attractions in Barbados; St. Lawrence Gap, known for its restaurants and nightlife; and Oistins, popular for its Friday night Fish Fry.

Guests don’t have to leave the resort for a good shopping experience. The La Tienda Boutique is right in the main lobby of the resort and offers souvenirs as well as elegant jewelry, handcrafts of pottery and mahogany, Bougainvillea branded clothing, toys, books, toiletries, postcards and international newspapers.
